Brian you gave me the incentive to start in on my flooring
renovation in my camper. I purchased the Oak Allure flooring. I was quite worried that perhaps the previous owner had glued down the green indoor/outdoor carpeting, which turned out not to be the case..thankfully.
However,..being that the camper is a 1973..I did find a really large, rather badly done patch job on the lower section of floor. They'd replaced a section with a piece of plywood that was too thick and left a trench about 1/8" to 1/4" surrounding the area they'd patched..which they'd tried to fill with what looked like drywall patch. Fortunately, it came up fairly easily.
My neighbor helped me put down a new base of luan plywood and the next day I was good to go with beginning with the new Allure floor. Next weekend I'll get around to trimming it out around the edges. And I guess I'm planning to caulk the area in front of the bathroom and door to the exterior, unless someone else has a different suggestion.
I love, love, love, how this looks! Next week I'm planning on
painting the inside to freshen it up a bit.
Thanks for all of the incentive!
