Flooring for a 1973 13' Trillium

I want to update the floor in my trillium, Home Depot said not to use Allure vinyl planking if it is stored in the cold over the winter, I have picked up 8mil laminate flooring but wonder if anyone has used the vinyl and how it help up over the winter? Can I lay the laminate on top of the existing lino or should I take it to the bare floor?

Any tips would be great

Hey Jenn, I installed Allure vinyl plank flooring in my Trillium last spring. I had no problem with the flooring having the trailer stored outside all winter (in Alberta).

That's awesome I'm in Kelowna surely it's colder where you are? How many boxes do you need? Were they the sticky ones? Did you take it down to bare floor??? Looks REALLY good!!!

These look really good - we have also purchased some vinyl flooring (not sure of brand) - I'm not sure why it wouldn't work...am curious as to what was used to finish the edges? Our floor had peeling vinyl sheet linoleum on it from the PO which we pulled off then got to work on the residue with a grinder - came out nice and clean with a bit of elbow grease!!

Also, could you post pics of how you treated the riser part of the step up into the dinette area? Thanks!

What trim did you use? I am having a tough time finding something I can glue down to cover the edges for my 76 Trillium. Thanks!

I returned the laminate and decided to go with the vinyl flooring thanks so much for your help! The pics are great. I just felt like it was the way I wanted to go in the first place. I spent the evening ripping up 42-year-old carpet underlay and then the linoleum it's finally ready to start the vinyl any install tips would be appreciated 😄

On the edge trim I used a plastic "C" clip piece from Home Depot. It was available in 6 foot lengths. on the dinette step I used a piece of commercial vinyl baseboard trimmed to height and then a piece of vinyl stair nosing.

I used an aluminum wall edging found at Home Depot. Click image for larger version

thanks for all the pictures and tips, we have been trying to figure out what to do for flooring in our 1300, who puts light yellow floors in a trailer??? Anyway it has made me insane cleaning to keep the fibreglass floor clean. Adding this to our June project list.
