Brandy, you said you picked it up at a thrift store. What do you think its intended purpose was? It's great when you can repurpose something and it works out so well.

It appeared to be a stove grate for perhaps a park style bbq pit

I like the grate material as rain won't pool on top. It is really sturdy and doesn't have the wiggle most little tables I have tried. There are two handles on top and since the weld is pretty tight they are needed to jimmy the grate up and off. The plus side to the welding overkill is this is something that will be on there for a long time. When I am driving two hitch pins keep it in place thou I doubt that thing would fall off
