front hitch tiki bar table mod***with Pictures jelousy alert*
Okay I am a thrift store junkie and I found a wire rack that I though hummmmm what can I do with this. I wanted a table that is secure in transit yet detachable when if I decided I didn't want it in my way. It lifts and turns sideways when at the location needed and sits over the lift so I don't bump myself on it. It is stable as all get up and does not wiggle or feel lose and makes great use of the space.
It functions as a table for my coffee maker and or stove if I want a spot to tap into my propane. I decided I was tired of purchasing small green propane tanks thus the idea of having a set location to hook up my cook stove if desired. Had I to do this project over again I would shorten it by 3 inches and installed a larger umbrella holder thing.

I should mention when it is in "travel mode" it is secured with hitch pins going sideways thru the mounted legs and the posts coming up from the frame

Hey Brandi,
I like it. I have often thought I'd like a table up front. I now have the generator/propane box on the tongue but it's too high and not really convenient as it goes across the front of the Scamp. I like your angled setup.
Currently I use a folding aluminum table which can be used for other things. Over the years I've plotted different tables and means of mounting them and have never gone forward with any of my designs. Yours does give me a little more food for thought.
Great job

I too have juggled 4 or 5 different table ideas and nothing really worked as I'd hoped. If someone was crafty they would have a second shelf below as a means to store plates or what not when at location. If it were lowered or had different leg heights it could be a great spot for say a cooler holder when in transit provided it doesn't weigh a ton to make the front too heavy

That's a great idea. I have dual propane tanks but only have one connected to the trailer. Then at a campsite, I have a folding aluminum table I set near the tongue to put my portable grill on, which is then hooked up to the other propane tank. I always thought if I could have some sort of small platform on the trailer tongue I wouldn't need a folding table.

I have seen the hot rod guys with something similar on the front of their bolers. On theirs' they have one arm that comes up and over the propane tanks with the table welded to it. They have drilled several holes in the bottom of the pipe so that it swings out to different positions and the pin goes in and locks it in place. When traveling, they just swing it back over the tanks and lock it into traveling mode with the same pin. Someday I might have time to get one made. The one thing that Brandy's has and the other guys don't is an umbrella holder. That is such a great idea. Keeps the food dry....

I really like this idea. I've been trying to figure a better way to hook up my grill up front and this would be perfect. Thanks for sharing!
