Frustrated with wrong rivot sizes sent from Scamp

Ordered these 2 parts and the appropriate sized rivots:





My husband picked up a rivot gun, removed the old parts, and was ready to install the new parts today BUT....the rivots are too big for the holes in the parts. Ugh! Are we doing something wrong or did Scamp send us the wrong parts?

Question: Did they send U plastic caps 4 the rivets?
Go to harbor freight or northern tools and purchase rivets of the right size.

The rivets listed on the invoice are what I ordered, so how do I know what the right size is?

Take the part with you to a hardware store. I buy the aluminum rivets I need at a local True Value. I've gotten tons of customer support there.

It is more important that the rivets fit the existing holes in the hull- can you drill out the ones in the part?

I would also buy metal washers for the inside that give a better tightening of the rivet.

You do not need caps above the parts there.

They didn't send you the wrong part or wrong rivets.
It's not uncommon to have to slightly enlarge the rivet holes in the parts.

The cord port says its for models after 2003. I ordered the same parts for my 1977 and I believe they had a different one for early model trailers like your 82. As others have said above though just get other rivets or drill the holes in the parts slightly larger.

I'd make sure the rivets fit correctly in the part. If the hole is too small in the shell, you can drill those slightly larger. If the holes in the shell are too large, you can fill them with marine epoxy and then redrill the holes in the shell.

But that's just me... YMMV
