I'm working on adding AC Under the left front dinette bench (next to the fridge). My intention was to use the window unit that I bought for my Keys trip with my Dad last year, but I find that it's a little too wide for the space.
After scouting all the local stores for end-of-season deals and finding only xmas stuff (in September! Grrrrrr. ) I ordered a smaller 15"wide unit online. It's supposed to deliver today.
If anyone wants this year-old LG with maybe 100 hours on it, I'll make you a deal! I've long since chucked all the window hardware, so it's really only good for a built-in.

Yes I think they are based out of California but they have a location here in Georgia in the Conyers/Lithonia area. I bought seals for my jalousie windows there.
I should add that they specialize in custom doors and windows.

Thanks, John!
Another question: I'm shopping for a roof fan replacement. Looking at Fan-tastic fans, ran across Maxxair as well.
Anyone have any preferences? Why?
I'm interested in the base model, no remote or rain sensors, maaaaybe reversible. Thoughts?

I have installed the Fantastic fan. Non reversible, and only 3 speeds. It moves lots of air. I was napping in the afternoon, by the only open window. It was like a breeze was constantly blowing over me. If someone opened the door, my breeze went away, and I realized how hot it actually was.
I have two Maxxair fans, waiting to be installed. The motor is slightly higher amperage, so in theory, it should move more air, but due to its less straight air path, I would be happy if it just moved as much air as the Fantastic fan. The additional complexity comes with the ability to run the fan in the rain. Nice!
Speed control, and a reverse switch can be added later, if you are comfortable doing some wiring.

I did the exact same thing. Tiny fan and noisy.

David, I don't understand what you mean by less straight air path and running in the rain. Guess I need to research more, I thought it was just a different brand of a similar item.

On the deluxe model, the cover on the fan is longer then the 14" vent opening. The inlet for the air is on the bottom of the cover. The fan exhausts, (or draws) air through the bottom of the cover. This allows the fan to operate in the rain.

I see! Thanks, Dave.
Well, my new AC arrived today, damaged. Dangit, I want to have it operational by my Florida vacation next week. I have 30 days to ship this one back, so I believe I'll just mock up the install with it.

And another question:
What does the original door striker plate look like? Mine is poor.
I have this piece which came with a Bargman rebuild kit, but I don't see how it would ever work in this application.
I can fabricate whatever I need, would just like to see how it was supposed to be. Been sitting on a $150 new door seal until I resolve this detail.

Your plate looks like my older Boler one which I removed when I put on the new style lock. It came with a strike plate similar to your new one but I made a slight error in rebuilding my door as I made it to tight of a fit so with my new trim with the bulb seal it won't close so for now I have not installed the trim seal or the strike plate. The latch and the deadbolt both work they just latch onto the fiberglass instead of the metal plate. Btw in your picture of the a/c it looks like the damage was only some bent fins, you may be able to carefully straighten them, probably won't effect the performance.

Thanks John. If I wasn't paying full price I might accept that damage. I tested it and it works, but is dented on three sides.

On mine I pulled cool air from under the trailer and vented the hot air out the side with a soffit vent that looks similar to the 3 way fridge vents but only a couple bucks at Lowe's. I considered adding a couple of computer fans behind the vent cover as others have done here but there is plenty of positive pressure from the condenser fan to push the hot air out so I don't think adding those vans have much effect. I do like your port though as you can close them to keep the elements and bugs out when not using the a/c.

There's an identical port on the side for exhaust.
Built ducting from foil-faced foam sheathing.
Also had to add an outlet to serve the AC. You can see it lower left.
