I wanted to mount a Yamaha 2400
generator on the front of my 17’
Casita and also keep both
propane bottles. This is what I came up with. There is a locking bracket on the bottom of the
generator so I can use a pad lock for security. I use tie down straps to keep the
generator from moving around while traveling and loosen them when it’s running.
I ran a 10 gauge three conductor wire from the generator to the rear of the trailer and will hard wire it into a double pole double throw 30 amp switch to select power from the campground or the generator. I still need to finish this, just haven’t made time to complete.
I had concerns with adding the
weight to the front, so I also reinforced the frame with .25” wall thickness 1.5” square tubing from the front to the
axle mount.
