great new gadget for tv, etc..

this is off the "cool' charts. Don't have a pic handy, but in searching for a remote TV speaker for over the dinette, a sales rep at Circuit City showed me a $30 wireless transmitter for audio devices which, when plugged into the appliance via mini-stereo jack, will transmit your TV/walkman/etc audio through your stereo speakers. Unit looks like a computer mouse and is powered by two AAA batteries. WOW!! Talk about great sound!! No wires, cheap, and sounds like surround sound through the 4 pioneer car speakers installed in the rear and dinette cabinets.

iRock

Phil
This sounds similar to the “Irock” unit which transmits thru a radio I use with a Walkman cd for audio books when I drive a company car. You can find these at Radio Shack for $30.00. eCost has had them on sale for $24 to $26.

Jim- that's the one. The LCD TV in my rig has a mini-stereo jack which is compliant with the iRock. Radio Shack can set up RC jacks for TV's, VCR's DVD's and such with that type connection. The transmitter has a selector and broadcasts on your choice of FM freqs 88.1-88.7. This is a nice feature so you can have a TV "station" preset on your stereo, and turning the unit on will override an active radio broadcast on that frequency so you don't lose a music preset.

Phil

I have a Jensen unit that I use for headphones but it can also be used for a radio that has a headphone jack. It runs in the 800mz range and is good for a 100 feet or so in case you would want to listen to music by the campfire without disturbing the neighbors. The base unit plugs in to the TV (or whatever) and the recieving unit is the size of a page and my headphones plug into it (plug it into the stereo). Of course, the base unit runs off 120 so that may be a problem, just thought I would mention it.

Its very handy, I can go out to my garage (unattached) and still listen to music and walk all over my 1/2 acre, just cant mow the lawn with it (dang). I got it at Best Buy for about $60 in the headphone area.
