Has anybody put in a bigger stove
I am thinking about taking out my OEM Stove and replacing it with a 3 burner unit.
Since the 3 burner is larger, I am wondering if anybody has done this in a 13 footer? Are there any size restrictions, heat restrictions, ventilation restrictions etc.
Perhaps some of the "Engineering" types could help out as well.
This is my "current" unit:
Here is what I am thinking about, one looks fairly similar to the stock 1980 which I have:
Or
As always thanks for the input

I think that as long as the cut out will contain it, you are good to go. If not you will have to enlarge the cutout. Also check the depth.

I will definitely need To enlarge the cutout on both sides and the back. I know depth is ok.
Y main concern is an adequate air pocket and heat on the fiberglass "backsplash" of the little kitchenette

Personal opinion, but if you need to enlarge the cutout... cut it from the front rather than the rear, as long as it's reasonable. Personally, I'm not interested in heating up the fiberglass....

....hmmm, three burners running in a little 13 footer, you might find that it goes zero to ninety (degrees) inside in a real hurry!!

0 to 90 degrees at this time of the year might not be too bad. Heck we dropped down to near 32 last night.
I'd like a three burner too, but I don't know if it would fit either. I also don't know how it would work for room if you actually had 3 pots/pans on it.

I'm kinda with Pam. I have a four-burner stove in my stick-built home... just like most folks. I could count on one hand (with finger left over) the number of times all burners (or even 3-4) were running at the same time! It's about the recipe, not the number of burners....
I love my microwave! YMMV

Would it be a worthwhile "option" to have three or just too crowded? Don't necessarily need to
Run all three "every" time. Just trying to be prepared

Jim, how do you cook at home? I don't find a lot of difference when I'm camping... okay, so maybe more bad foods like "meals on a stick," but I eat MOSTLY the same kind of meals. For me, camping is about the "environment" not about the food.. YMMV.
I still love my microwave.... but it's not about "heat n eat" it's about using a micro! There again, YMMV

Hunter's have a similar galley enclosure and the Compact-II's came with a 3 burner cook top. I took it out and installed a 2 burner cooktop/ sink combo, in part to get away from the walls.

We have a three burner stove, and it is a rarity for even two to be used at once. I would much rather have just a two burner in hindsight, as the outdoor stove gets way more use anyway. The saving grace to our stove/sink combo is that when the lid id closed it provides a nice smooth part of the countertop, as other than a thin rim it is all sunken under the counter.

Panther RV seems to be the only source for SMEV in the U.S., and they are easy to deal with when there is a problem. (See below)
I bought and installed this combo unit in my Hunter C-II
SMEV MO0911 2 Burner Stove/Sink Combination Camper Trailer RV | eBay
Be aware, SMEV packaging sux.... Mine arrived with a big dent in the sink and had to go back.
Here is a pic of it installed, BTW, everything else in the pic, counter tops, shelf supports, s.s. grids and single handle faucet, came from .... IKEA

I'm not going to change it, but both of my Trillium 4500 trailers have a 3 burner stove, but I would have preferred a two burner unit. I never cook with more then two burners. This is probably because I am the short order cook type, as opposed to the chef type.

We rarely use even one burner in our stick trailer (33' Golden Falcon). A microwave and small pressure cooker inside, small BBQ outside and life is indeed BEE-OOO-TI-FUL!
