Has anyone used Smart Tiles?

Purchased Smart Tiles to do backsplash in our 76 Boler. Has anyone tried these out?

I like the idea. Simple. I just bought a sample sheet of this last week to try, so coincidentally. The flexibility I think and none use of mortar makes since.

Just read Home Depots write up on these tiles which says to remove them use a hairdryer to heat them but didn't give a temp. Wonder if it may get hot enough in an RV for that to happen especialy being on a wall. I have seen the temp guage in my MH pegged at 130 many times went in storage with the vents open. Just wondering

They are cheap enough, what do you have to loose. If they come loose and drop off just clean up and try something else...just a thought. I think I am going to try them myself.

Neat product. Thanks for sharing.
Wife has been talking about redoing
in the kitchen area. This should be
easy enough.

I used them for a backsplash in my Burro. After a year, including a hot summer on the parking lot of the U-Haul South Philly Self Storage Center of Excellence, they are still sticking.

Dave Borrego, sorry I did not mean to sound flippant in my last comment, just tired. "What have you got to loose" I want to add, or, You could have a beautiful back splash if you decided
to use the product.

They are pretty thin.
If you go directly to the web site, you can order a sample for a nominal fee.
Which is what I did.
Not that sticky on the back.

Diane no problem with your responce. I was hoping no one would take it as an insulting post. It was just my first thought about using a hairdryer to take them down, heat. I live in the desert and with the summer HEAT here I wouldn't want to do a mod like that just to have it laying on the counter when I'm ready to make a trip . Living here UV and heat are a concern.

I used the Stainless Steel with 1"x1" squares for my Boler backsplash. It has been on for over a year and works great. This week I had to remove one tile and the only way I could get it off was with a heat gun (carefully)

I'm more of a contemporary guy, and am thinking of refacing my ugly cabinet doors with these from Lowe's. Not sure if you can cut them to fit, but even if they overhang a bit it'll look better than the fake wood look. I tried removing them to refinish them with contact paper, but the screws are too old to remove easily, so whatever I do, I have to do it while they are still attached which makes it challenging. Check out these cool "stainless steel" ones. Shop Instant Mosaic 2012 Stainless Steel Color Metal Mosaic Subway Indoor/Outdoor Peel-and-Stick Wall Tile (Common: 12-in x 12-in; Actual: 12-in x 12-in) at Lowes.com

The photo is from someone who did their Airstream trailer lavatory with them.
