Smile Have you seen this Trillium before?

Hi there!
I've just adopted this babe.

I'm assuming she's a trillium.

It's my best guess- however I can't find any picture online that 100% matches. There's no flower symbol, but the body design seems to be closest to a trillium.
Perhaps she's one of the first rounds made of the trailer.. anyone out there have an idea?

Also- The roof has an interesting raised bit.. I'll take some more pictures to add, floating this out there for now.

I've yet to strip the paint job and get my hands dirty to perhaps learn more.

Standby for updates.

Cheers,
S

Do a search of Triple E Surfside trailer.
You'll note similarities with Escape. The Surfside is one of the trailers Escape was based on.

Hi Su,

I found a similar trailer, no gelcoat or flower symbol on door in Toronto in 1976, that I finished with the help of the Trillium factory. They sold me all the parts I needed to complete it and made my job finishing it much easier. I got all the other parts from "Camper's Corner", a trailer supply place. The Trillium rep that came out to see it was quite taken with it, but was not sure if it was a pre-production Trillium or not. I don't have any pix that I can post, only old photos. We took it down to Florida, to Chincoteage and the East Coast (US & Can). It served us well.

Have you seen this zTrillium before ?

Hi I looked at the picture and noticed that the areas around the windows were made flatter with a slight recess. Just never saw a picture that showed it before. Must have had something to do with the longer windows used. This makes them different than Trillium"s. Enjoy your new trailer, seems many hardware parts may be identical to the Trillium too. Don't know much about the Surfside company itself. Hose it down and check for leaks around the roof vent and windows. Most of that vintage need repairs for leaks. Have fun with your new toy! Duane

Triple E Surfside

I agree that it is a Triple E Surfside.

Mine is a 1979 and is more or less in its original state, unlike yours, which has been repainted and has a different kind of side window.

They were made in Manitoba.

I'm attaching a photo. I'm no longer towing it behind a VW Golf, but it was capable.

Looks great!

And exactly like mine.. Most definitely a triple E. I was so convinced it was some strange trillium when I made the account

The window must have been broken and the previous owners replaced it with a piece of plexi.
Looks like the original colour was an off bathtub white... and the silver coat makes it look like a cheap airstream/moonlander! That will have to go.. Looking into fiberglass paint strippers at the moment.

I'd love to see more pictures of what you did to yours!
Did you get the solar power hooked up?

The only thing I've done with it is electrical. I did install solar, and updated some of the interior wiring, etc.

I originally bought a 100W solar panel, but it didn't fit well because of the bump on the roof. I decided to go for two 50W panels, one at the front and one at the back. I ended up only needing one of them, so never did install the front one.
