This isn't my heater, so it has to be identified from the photo only. It looks to be very compact, so possibly its suitable for my application. I'd like to investigate further. With a brand/model I should be able to find size and performance specs.

There is a Marley heater I have found that looks similar, but I don't think its the same one. There is also a Broan heater that is also similar, but I don't think its that one either.

Yes, it is the heater in an EggCamper, electric. In fact it may have been mine. It is a 1000 watt if I remember, on a thermostat. I just installed a similar one in my Escape.

Go to amazon, electric wall heaters, Broan is a good brand, here is the one I think Jim Palmer installs in the EggCamper

Yes, the trailer may have been yours. Its listed for sale here.

That link in your message does appear to be the heater in the photo. Thankyou!

I've read a few review complaints about the Broan heaters having a noisy fan. What was your experience with this one?

Derek

just as quiet as the one in the egg camper. Plus the Broan #170 has 2 heat settings, 500 or 1000, if you install a switch, which I did allowing you to run it on low or high, same fan speed, just more watts.

Too bad the particular seller listed above doesn't ship to Canada.

The one other heater I've seen is by Marley. It appears to be basically the same sort of thing. The seller claims it is possible to change the wattage level between 375 and 1500 watts. I'm not sure if you can set things up to adjust your wattage with a switch though. Possibly not.

I did notice that the Broan had a 500 watt and 1000 watt setting. I can see the value of being able to pick your wattage depending on your power source. I assume that at 500 watts you are basically using half of the heater coil?

Yes, that is correct, there are 2 coils and with both on, it is 1000 watts and one on it is 500 watts, can not understand the 375/1500 watt combo you mentioned.

The heater appears to be a Cadet Encore heater . Cadet is based in the State of Washington . Cadet has had several recalls on their heaters from defective thermostats to defective high limit switches and filed for bankrupcy due to product recalls. I own 2 Cadet Encore heaters and have replaced the high limits on both and the thermostat on one . Markel, TPI and Berko make better products IMHO

It is in fact a Cadet- it says so at the link Jim Posted.

Not sure where the "Broan" comes in...

Don't know if it's a "recalled" model...here's a link to info re. what models were covered: Cadet & Encore electric wall heaters recall: CPSC Notice Regarding Recalled Cadet In-Wall Heaters - Fire and Electrical Hazard

If this is the case then we should see bargain basement prices on surplus product. People selling these now orphan Cadet heaters will be liquidating their stock. hmmmm

Anybody who wants to maintain a "vintage" look in their trailers might like this heater:

Ok. I have done some reading online. It appears rhat there was some problems in the older Cadets. The newer ones have a different type of heater coil and a high heat cutoff switch. These issues should eliminate the fire issue related to the recal.

You do need to make sure the intake on your heater is clean, but thia ahouls apply to any of these small heaters. You also need to make sure you locate them appropriately relative to walls and anythin that could block the airflow. Again this applies to all of these type of heaters.
