Hille Ranger pop up restoraton

I just got my dads Ranger out of a barn where it has been for the last 30+ years. I hope to do it justice as I attempt to restore it to the condition that I remember as a kid in the 60's. My family spent many weekends in Texas State Parks in this awesome camper. I hope you enjoy this restoration journey as much as I do.

That is one stylin' pop up! It looks like a Bel Air camper, awesome.

I'd love to see this one fixed up.

Oh my gawd, that is soooooooooooooooo cool!

Since the focus here on Fiberglassrv is about molded fiberglass travel trailers, I am not sure you will find a lot of help on certain project issues you may face. So I will recommend googleing, vintage pop up, restoring a vintage travel trailer, Range pop up, etc. You might find more help and suggestions. Good luck!

Here is a link I found just googleing, restoring vintage pop up. http://zoomcart.com/members/restoration/polishing.html

and I found this one as well. (love google! ) http://repairingyesterdaystrailers.yuku.com/directory This is a forum with lot's of sub-forums that might help you out better than some of us can........

Welcome to fiberglassrv, glad you joined us! Have fun with that project, it will be worth it in the end. Good Luck!

Tin Can Classifieds - 1954 RANGER POP UP TRAILER, 1 OF 200 MADE - Powered by PhotoPost Classifieds

of course Tin can tourists is always a cool place to start looking for info on vintage.

Here is another link, I do believe it's old stagnet, not active but cool inspiration............ http://1954rangerpopuptrailer.blogspot.com/

Here is a great post about shine on fiberglass, there are a bazillion other such topics here as well and can be found by the search query. I understand the ranger is a mixture of fiberglass/resin I would suggest, testing anything we with all fiberglass use, just to be on the safe side. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ell-43004.html

Hi Robbin, welcome to FiberglassRV. We've had a couple of Ranger owners here. It appears they've moved on to forums that target that type of towable after they found out we can't be as helpful as they'd hoped.

Here's a couple of threads with pictures: New here w/ a 1954 Ranger and a U-Haul

Robin G. thanks for the links. I'll keep posting progress. It is going to take some time because there is a lot of damage to the wood structure. Some of the pictures on the Vintage Camper site show some good restoration detail.
