Hey all, first post, just bought a 85
boler and getting ready to do some work to it once the cold weather comes so am currently researching how to accomplish what I need to do.
One thing that i am unsure of is fixing where the previous owner mounted the door hinges, they are not in the correct spots, making the door swing terribly.
They used some metal checker plating and created a surface to mount the hinges on, perhaps after being ripped off accidentally??
My question is, what strength is needed here? If I remove the checkered plating, clean up the fibre glass under it, do any fibreglass repairs needed can I then drill new holes in the repaired fibreglass or am I asking for trouble?
I was thinking worst case to cut out a piece of the existing fibreglass and add in some support structure and then fibreglass over the support materials...
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
