Nice job!

We don't attach our FirstUp to our Uhaul when we set it up as our canopy (really a screen room). We use the plastic rain drip catcher (I don't know the official name for this.) that we put around the top of the door. The metal for the FirstUp sits nicely in this.

We have the awning for our Eurovan that we have not ever used except to try it out. I wonder if it would work. It had some kind of attachment that connected to the rain gutter. We did not need it with the FirstUp. Looks like the same one as used for the VW bus.

I just ordered a 13' Scamp that I will be picking up in July and I think I am going to cancel the order for the awning. I like this idea much better and I am wondering if I can modify the tent canopy that I have to accomplish something similar to the one you have so cleverly created.
Scamp owners are so creative and I am learning so many things from joining this forum.

Adorable! great work. But have to ask, does it take both of you to set it up? Or can one person do it?

Thanks for the great ideas for awnings! I was thinking about what to do with our galley area and this was very helpful!

I also like the Bus Depot awning. It's too bad that the X pieces are fiberglass because aircraft aluminum is much nicer to work with and lasts forever. Tentpole Technologies in Vancouver, WA can probably help me out with aluminum poles. Hmmmmm

I like that awning & the Bus Depot one also. I have no problem if awning safely fails in high winds. Would rather have suction cups pull loose or velcro straps fail than see awning or camper damaged.

Currently we re-purposed our 10x10 pop up awning, wife and I can set it up and walk it right over one side of our 13 ft Scamp. Clears both ends by a little bit. But the thing is huge (big square bag with wheels) and heavy (steel poles). Takes up half the couch when transporting. Much more in the way if not in use such as overnight when traveling.

Thanks for the good ideas and links.
