Honda EU2000i installation

Ready to travel.

Both the Honda generator and propane bottle are mounted between the frame members.

The Honda is held in place with an automotive safety belt. So pop the safety belt buckle and the Honda can be set aside.

The Hondas feet have a recessed 3/4" diameter area. A bolt with a stack of washers positions each foot.

The propane bottle has an 'easy out' clamp arrangement. The quick release spring loaded clamp is an old boat transom clamp. Pop it off, the tank tilts enough to slip out from under the clamp on the opposite side.

A 10ga cord plugs in to the Honda and the other end is fed thru the floor of the trailer where the trailer cord stores, and plugs in to the cord. When using shore power, unplug this connection and string out the trailer cord.

The modified plastic propane cover fits over the generator. Held down with velcro tabs and a screen installed on the generator exhaust side so the generator can run with the cover in place.

PineConeDon,

Very, very nicely done.

As it's mounted solidly to the frame, is there much sound transmission into the trailer while the generator is running?

Bill:

The Hondas rubber feet are positioned by the 'washer stack' but it isn't mounted solidly to the frame. FWIW, on the first try, I had the washer stack too high so that the Honda was sitting directly on the bolt heads (not the feet) and yes, it did vibrate! Removing 2 washers made all the difference. While running the AC, the compressor will shake, but the vibration in the trailer is not noticeable. What is noticeable is the exhaust being so near the entry where you're likely to set out chairs. For this reason I made it easy to set off in order to point the exhaust away from the trailer. :)
