Increasing a Hunter Compact Jr / II Boot Height

Hi all. I had a 6'4" friend in my Compact II the other day and he could stand upright if he turtled his neck a little or if I added taller boot material.

Do any of you see a reason why this wouldn't be possible? The only part of the sliding "X" mechanism that would need to be changed is a longer support bar which holds the pop-top in place when the roof is listed. But this is just a flat bar and would be easy to swap out. Do any of you hunter owners see any flaws in this thought process (beside more surface area for wind)

I know the mechanism is different for the Compact Jr. For those of you familiar w/ the Junior, would this work there?

I do not plan on undertaking this project myself but thought this suggestion might help some of the taller members out there in the hunt for something that will let them stand up.

Sounds like your plan would work. Just be sure you do a lapped, flat felled, seam. Lots of you tube videos on how to sew that seam type.
