Input on Bed 1989 16ft Scamp

We have a 16ft 1989 Scamp with a front bathroom, and rear booth/table. Looking for suggestions on how to develop a BED that is made up full time, yet have a table to sit at also.
Any suggestions?

Don't you have a side dinette with the front bath layout?

I'm not familiar with Scamp layouts but it would seem to me that you have some midship "galley" storage which will have to be removed or adapted. Can you hinge a small counter to existing food prep or storage? Even if you had to use folding chairs, it might be OK42. The usual "empty nester" solution in a trailer with convertible sleeping/dining arrangements fore and aft is to make one a permanent bunkhouse and the other a permanent mess hall.

Scamp does have a side dinette floor plan on their web site, you could look at that for the location they use for dinette with a front bath floor plan like yours. Or at least where they would put it in general.
Scamp Travel Trailers: 16 Foot Floor Plans

If you have the front couch floor plan with the toilet toward the front but not all the way forward someone here posted pictures of pulling the bunk and cutting out the center of couch for a table to make a small dinette across the font.

From your Registry pictures, it looks like you have a layout 5 instead of the more common layout 6.

Short of gutting out the whole central part of the trailer to convert it to a layout 6, I'm stumped.

Definately don't want to gut this-its in great condition and has plenty of storage--very functional and good use of space. Guess we will continue to "make up the bed"
Thanks

Wondering which layout it really is--appears this is a custom deluxe because of the wood cabinets..however, I'm not seeing the exact layout on the Scamp sight. The 16ft side dinette is close, but our dinette is in the rear, with no side dinette at all!

Like Frederick said, it appears you have Layout 5. Click on the link. Remember, Scamp builds the same layouts whether wood or fiberglass interior. It just means there are more options, etc. with wood interiors.

We have a 13' Scamp and were concerned about putting up and taking down the table/bed setup daily. As it turns out, when the weather is nice, we keep the bed up and have our coffee and simple breakfast while sitting on the edge of the bed or on the couch. Before you know it we are out hiking for the day, cook and eat dinner outside, enjoy our campfire, read in bed and turn out the lights. When weather is inclement we'll set up the dinette because we'll be inside more hours of the day.

The key is to make bed setup easy/breezy. We do this by draping fleece blankets over the dinette bench backs. (They are decorative and do not take up much-needed storage space.) When not in use our 2 comforters are rolled around a 4' tube and placed across the dinette benches under the table. We store our 2 lengths of thermafoam in the dinette bench. It takes less than 5 minutes to convert the dinette to a bed.

Our two small bed pillows are housed in "Pillow-Pets" (MyPillowPets.com) during the day. My favorites are the "Chocolate Moose" and the bear. I modified the original by removing the stuffing and inserting a 12" zipper in the lower edge (between the back legs). During the day they look like stuffed animals and at night we remove the pillow, thereby saving even more valuable storage space.

'Hope these ideas help you and others. Happy camping!
