Forgot to mention. I put my iPhone back into Field Test Mode. The last time I upgraded the iOS software it put me back into normal mode. Field test mode gives a signal strength reading in dB. Despite bring on a hill my signals are typically -110dB and if move around I might see -80 briefly.

This same system with a 70dB amplifier might be a good replacement for cable Internet in the house. If I can convince everyone to use the few broadcast channels we have and Netflix, I can cut our cable&internet bill by $100/month and pay for the equipment in 8-9 months.

This is the Amplifier I ordered. These are only sold in a kit now. I will probably eBay the external antenna, although I may mount these in my car, and install power cables for the amp so I can move it between vehicles. I doubt I'd need it though--seems like too much work. My goals is a good data signal when I'm camping. I can use the indoor antenna if I want to boost my phone signal also. I think this would be a great option on a boat also.

Wilson Electronics 460108

It includes a path antenna for indoors, or you can bypass that with a cable direct from a MiFi.

This is the cable I'm using from my MiFi.

The JetPack I bought, which requires a nano to SIM adapter:

Not seeing any performance gain so far. I am using the included antennas and high loss cables.

I use my cell phone as a mobile hotspot, very secure. For streaming movies, I have no issues using a campground or other public WiFi. I don't even have a TV. If I want to watch anything I use Hulu, Netflix, watch shows on the network website. Very economical.

I tested the booster with the included antenna tonight. I saw 21-25dB gain. It required a good ground plane on my car roof.

Testing on my campers metal door frame did not work. Once the patch cable comes it I can test the marine antenna.
