This evening my friend stopped by and dropped of (2) original 1965 Mustang tail lights. I would like to use these on my 73 Compact Jr. This would require cutting clearance for the buckets. Is it a sin to alter the body in this way?

Early 60's Ford and Thunderbird tail lights look good on a Boler so why not? There's even one owner that has some cool dual exhaust on his triple "E". Matching fender flares is another nice mod.

The only sin would be to NOT take lots of pictures, before/after and all the in between. I bet it's going to look really great!

A word of caution.
What happens if one of the lenses gets damaged? Replacements might be difficult to locate. If found, what would be the price?

Nah, this is not a problem. Classic Mustang parts are available in tons of places. Since they were considered "classics" almost from the date of manufacturing there's even more parts available used. I own two '67s and can purchase parts right down to the "correct" bolts.

OK, it shall be done. My friend has replacements too. As repop parts as so available, original parts are almost without value. You could build a complete car less VIN.

I am in awe of you people that have the skills to make this type of modification !!
I can do some minor rewiring and interior mods, but I am getting a little jittery just thinking of cutting through the shell to install an access door.
hotos, photos, please post photos of the process!

I loved what you did and took a whole bunch of pictures. Even got a couple of before shots from a previous year at Emily.
