I'm feeling inspired here. My husband and I are about where you started, except for the fact that our 1987 Casita was already stripped down to the fiberglass when we bought it. The job of re-assembling and improving our "Casita kit" is so daunting but your project has given me hope. Thank you for sharing your experience so generously!

Good luck on your ambitious project, it will be a lot of work but the finished trailer will be worth every $, skinned knuckle and cross word. If you need any encouragement or get stuck please send me a note, I will do my best to keep your enthusiasm at its' highest.

Magic mesh

I saw this brilliant modification at last year's Alberta Omelette and enlisted the talents of Darla, whose Boler it was on, to make me a set. yes this is the same Magic Mesh advertised on TV, Darla uses cloth banding to sew the top together into one strip, then cuts the width down to fit and sews heavy duty Velcro around the sides and top. It works great, "snapping" shut right behind you.

Holey Moley, this is inspirational (not that I could ever do anything close to this involved). I was inspired to order that table base! And managed to stay calm after figuring out the shipping costs to Alaska! UPS was going to charge $154 for the slow method! So I had it shipped to the barge company in Seattle, Alaska Marine Lines for $40 and they will bring it up to me by barge for $60 ( minimum charge).

I want a smaller table, well shorter, but wide to use for a bed too. I love the space without the regular dinette table. Pictures promised when my ship (or barge) comes in.

Thanks for all the great pictures, beautiful work.

Wine Rack

Some may say this is wasting valuable storage space, to my many FGRV friends who know me this is an essential priority.
I wonder how many Bolers have a wine rack?

The wine rack securely holds 5 bottles

To get to the storage behind the rack just release the locking thumbscrew and slide the entire rack to the side.

This is beautiful. We are definitely going to have one! Nicely designed on your side for sure.

The slides are 75 lbs full exytension drawer slides. When they are used flat the load capacity is reduced (I think the manufacturer says 30%) but there is lots of capacity for this use.

and everytime you empty a bottle the capacity reduced ..... increases

Thanks for the info. I have bunches of drawer slides hanging around, this is giving me food for thought!

With camping season now over what better time than now to start the transformation of the outside of my Boler.
Got home from work today and in 2.5 houts had the front and rear window removed, both rear side windows, the small kitchen window, the fridge vents and the Boler logos.

Thanks Mike ... I hope it turns out that good.
I got the rest of the outside stripped today, just have some butyl to clean up around some of the fixtures, epoxy in the rear tail light housings, and clean up the awful mess that attached the front rubber rock guard.
More pictures tomorrow.

Almost finished getting to outside ready for the body shop.
The worst part was removing the glue that held on the front rubber rock guard, but after saturating it with lacquer thinner, scraping, rubbing with steel wool and scotch bright pads, my aching hands declare success.
Just a few more items to clean, need to fiberglass the rear light housings in then off for body repair and painting.
