Jack TV antenna install

I recently removed the Delta antenna from my Scamp and installed an aluminum cover plate. I have been looking at installing a King "Jack" antenna but it looks like it needs a roof that is at least 1 1/4" thick. Has anyone installed a Jack antenna on a thin fiberglass roof without glassing in a spacer block. Attach is the Jack inst. instructions. I found several threads about the antenna but I did not see where anyone had actually installed their antenna onto a fiberglass roof.
Thanks
Eddie

You can make a spacer out of wood or your favorite material.
It doesn't have to be glassed onto the roof.
I much prefer the Winegard Roadstar 1500 install it and forget it.
Amazon has them for $68.00

Thanks for the reply. The 1500 antenna solves a lot of issues. I can get rid of the cable running across the roof, it will mount directly to my cover patch and no aiming. I just use the on board antenna when on the road. If I will be in one place a couple of days I use an external antenna mounted on a pool cleaning pole.

The 1500 does it all, install and forget it.
And you get all the local HD channels too!
