Keep old door hinge or buy new one?

I have removed the door hinge from my Boler and thought I would just buy the replacement pin and ball but now I'm wondering if I should order the Scamp hinge and replace the whole thing....

The door was sagging, as is common, so I had to take it off to rehang it straight. The question is, does the hinge have anything to do with the sagging door or is it just wear on the fiberglass over time?

I've cleaned them up; do they look to worn to reuse?

I just purchased two new scamp hinges, because it looks like the hinge pin on mine is too small, possibly worn, or replaced with the wrong size.

The Boler/Scamp hinge does not have a pin, it has a ball. The bolt (and spring and nut) is just for holding the parts together so they don't bounce apart over bumps: the bolt is not supposed to be anywhere near a snug fit to the holes in the ball or hinge halves.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Right. I can simply order a new ball and pin for $5 but I'm wondering if the old hinge has anything to do with the sagging? If it doesn't I will just buy the new pins and reuse the Boler hinges....

Angela, I'd buy the parts and use the original. Unless there's a crack, I see nothing wrong with using them. YMMV Now would be the time to spiff them up too. Besides Scamp hinges are three bolt, Boler hinges are two bolt... if that makes a difference to you.

Oh, and what does YMMV mean?
