That's the plan eventually. Will be pretty cool once the ambulance is painted back to it's white and red color scheme. For now we plan on puling it with this.

Really liked reading your reno thread. Thanks for the pictures that'll provide encouragement for our resurrection project: 1991 Scamp 16'

Great job on your project! I have to ask, how did you get the Scamp for free?

Did I miss the "first" camping pictures? It was fun following the rehab, now want to see the Scamp out in it's natural camping habitat

What a fun read! I enjoyed watching all of your progress. You e got quite a versatile hubby there. He did some wonderful work!

Not sure if go with a power washer to clean the Scamp though. If you decide to, definitely don't point at windows. If gelcoat is chalky and stained, some folks here have used bar keepers friend. If it were mine, I'd start with just a good washing with a gentle kitchen scrubber for highly stained areas. See what you can get out with 3M restorer and wax. You can always bring out bigger guns if the little ones don't bring the clean or shine you want.

Very nice indeed. Applause!

Wendy

Guess I should update since it's been a while.

We got it free from a friend of ours that has an RV business. He has had it for years and it sat at his place in the shape you see it in at the beginning of this thread, for years. He was going to just crush it, so we asked if we could have it and try to restore it. And, here we are now.

No, you haven't missed the first camping trip. We actually have our first one scheduled for mid June. I still need to do some final touches, like sheets for the bed, pillows and such. I already put some pots and pans in and we are doing plastic wear and paper plates so those are in there too. I did finally finish lining the cabinets and hubby found a comforter for the bed. So we are getting there slowly but surely. I also need to get hubby back onto the pull vehicle. He needs to put a new carb on it and get it running so I can drive it for a while before we go and pull the scamp with it.

Only pic i have is the bed made up with the comforter. It was fun putting that on it, going to be really fun trying to make it with the sheets and all. LOL

Truthfully, I kind of wasn't to much into the Scamp. Don't get me wrong, I loved restoring it and I do like it, but I have a Westy VW Bus and I love it. I was having a hard time thinking of going camping in the Scamp and leaving the bus behind. Well, we will be fixing that issue in the near future. We found this VW single cab and will be restoring it, putting a Subaru motor in it, and it can then pull the Scamp. Best of both worlds. Still get to drive a VW bus, and also get to camp in the Scamp.

Yah, it is rough, but one day it will be pretty!
