LED Porch light.

I do a lot of boon docking and wanted a porch light for when I get back late or to find the camper in the dark easier after a late night stroll. Here is what I came up with that was fast, easy, and put no drain on my battery. It's a garden LED spot light I modified to mount to a board. It then just sits up on top of the trailer or you can set it on the ground and aim it any where. Simple but effective. I got mine at walmart.

Not a bad idea at all! I think I'd put it on the ground or on the picnick table so I didn't forget it on the roof as I drive away. I've done that to a few items on the roof of my vehicle already...

I found a LED strip that's being sold as a dome light at princess auto. It should give off enough light to get me to the door without stumbling around too much. It seems pretty well sealed and has a clickable switch on it. I guess we'll sew how long it lasts.

I REALLY like that idea!

Goes on when it gets dark, and costs nothing to run, I can find the trailer in the dark and....

"A plan with no drawbacks!" ("Red Dwarf" quote!)

(And I agree with the idea of putting it somewhere where you won't forget it, but on the ground or on a picnic table invites a situation whereby it "ain't there" on my return... Hmmmm......)

I agree Dave. That's why I'm going to try the LED dome light. It's small enough to not protrude and can be fixed to the side of the trailer. It even comes with it's own switch.

Do you by any chance have the sku for that light? I can't seem to find it.

BCDave.....That is why I set it on top of the camper it wont grow legs and walk away up there. Plus I can see much better when I come out of the trailer, it's not shining in my face like it was the first time I used it and had it on the ground shining on the camper.
nlife....I have a check list I go through so I don't leave it on the camper before I drive off.
