LP Water Heater for Scamp/Hunter

Has anyone found an LP water heater smaller than the usual 6 gallon RV variety? They make way more hot water than we need and, of course, take up a lot of real estate. We are looking for something for both our 2007 Scamp as well as a slightly older (1973) Hunter Compact-II. Many Thanks

When I put the 6 gallon water heater in our Trillium I did lots of searching the www and found, somewhere, a 4 gallon water heater. As I recall it was not much smaller than the six gallon and about the same $ so I went for the 6 gal unit. We have depleted the six gallon tank doing dishes and outside showers/hair washing so I can't imagine having much less hot water than the 6 gallon tank provides.YMMV

What about one of those in line water heaters? Aren't they somewhat smaller?

RE: In-Line Water Heaters
The electric ones I found are a nice size but have huge power requirements and will only work when plugged in, something we abhor in our travels
The few LP gas ones need external venting and the mfgs. all recommend against RV use. There is an RV tankless water heater but it is very, very expensive.
