Benita, I've been giving a very hard, long look at that type of stove. (See Top post in Benita's Interiors topic.) It is way more expensive than the typical RV stove, but I think it would be worth it. I believe they are made for boats.

Seeing it put to use as I imagined makes me really believe it'd be a good idea.

Suz -- We are up in western Washington. Puget Sound is all around us as are millions of boats. I found a used Force 10 range for about half price of new at a used boat equipment place in Seattle and installed in in our 16ft Scamp. For sure it is 'way better' than anything made for campers.

You show your area as North Texas, and I have driven enough miles in Texas to know it can be a long ways between places, but I would think any of the towns from Galvaston to Pt. Isabel would have a lot of marine stuff in the consignment shops.

Perhaps you could just hook up and head out to the coast for a few days of a mini-vacation and improve the time by lurking around the warves and docks. Never know what kind of treasure you might hook into.

Now there's a thought, Loren. Don't know why I didn't think about that since I actually grew up on the coast!
