Mattress

Need help deciding a mattress for my compact jr.

Would an inflatable bed with a 2” memory foam topper be comfortable?

What is comfortable for one person is not for another. If you are thinking about using an inflatable mattress, the air in the mattress gets really cold if you are camping in cool climates. For years we have used backpacker foam mattress that self inflates when the valve is opened. It was very comfortable for us (you can obtain them in various sizes and thicknesses) but after several years, it started to leak/deflate. We just installed an IKEA foam mattress, but have not camped/slept on it yet, but it does feel comfortable to us while just trying it out.

Thank you for the reply. Im aware of air mattresses in cool weather. I’m an avid backpacker. I figured the memory foam topper would provide enough r value to stay warm.

How many inches is the foam mattress you bought from ikea?

Air mattresses always seem to be full of surprises.

And sometimes (just like the rest of us) they can be full of hot air.

We purchased the IKEA Lycksele Lovas Mattress for $99.00 at our local IKEA store, but it can be ordered and shipped to you.
It measures 55 1/8”x 74” x 3 7/8”. And it has a zippered removable cover for cleaning.
Best of luck with your search.
