A few further pictures on the
microwave cabinet in my
Trillium about which I posted yesterday. These were taken today with the cabinet much closer to completion.
A full height view of the cabinet with
microwave in place also, the doorless
fridge from which I removed the front metal frame that was then stripped and repainted before reinstalling.
The hold down strip that puts pressure on the
microwave to keep it in place. The foam along the bottom edge is cut from an old mouse pad and quite dense.
The door to the compartment under the microwave drops down to make a shelf for setting items on when using the microwave. It is attached with piano hinge for connection with a lot of resistance to 'Pull Out'. The bottom edge of the door, when open, bears against the front edge of the shelf it's attached to in order to stop the door from flopping below the horizontal when it has
weight on it. The three vinyl bumpers on the red maple ledge over the
fridge also add a little extra support to the door at a point a little further out from the hinge
