My 73 Boler Build

Well its time. I've put the Boler in the garage and began to remove the frame and axle. We have owned it for a year now and spent one night in it. The previous owner had removed the fridge, stove etc. So its more like a hard body tent. We are not sure what we are going to end up with, but we will start with this.
With a wood floor, it makes a little more difficult. They screwed the floor down from the top into the frame, at leased that's the way this one is. We are only doing this for now, so I didn't want to pull up the lino. As I go along I will send some pictures.

Well we got the old frame out. I'm glad I started here. The old frame has seen better days.

I'm not sure if any of you seen, I started this thread a while back. We have got the new frame welded together, and I just found out the axle is in. We have test fit the frame and its ready for the axle and paint.

Nice work.

I'm amused that when I suggested in an old thread that a trailer that was built without brake attaching flanges could have them welded on I was greeted with , yet you are building a whole new trailer frame and.......... nothing.....

For my plans with this unit, there won't be much for weight. I bought without anything inside. About the only thing I may put in is a fridge and a stove top.

How did you get the frame off? I could use some advice on that. Mine has a wood floor sandwiched between fibreglass, and I understand there are a lot of screws as well as bolts, and they're hard to find.

Val, on mine there were only screws but alot of them. They were roughly every 6 inches. I got my 4 inch grinder removed the safety guard and bought 3 or 4 5 inch cutting disks and force the disk between the plywood and the frame. If you take a jack and lift on the plywood slightly, you may create a slight cap to side the disk in. It works well, but make sure you have a firm grip on the grinder. I found with mine I had to lift the trailer quite high to do that. Hope this helps.
