It's like Deja Vu all over again.

And come on......Zebra!

It seems so obvious to me?

My original thought was that this would be Robert's trailer, that would lighter and simpler for him to use by himself and pull behind his Pontiac Vibe, which is Silver Gray.

Pink is my favorite color, for some reason i don't see a man painting anything majenta. I have two steel doors DH painted Majenta, but only because he got tired of waiting for me to pick out a color. Come on girls, vote for pink!!!!!!!!!

Cool I've reached a decision (I think)

I've decided that the upper half of the main body and the wheels will be white, and the Fiberglass part of the pop-top and the lower half of the main body will be Turquoise. The band around the equator separating the white and turquoise will be a Reflectorized Red tape stripe, and it will have chrome baby moon hubcaps.

In the meantime, I got it completely stripped to prep for the body work.

I like the turquoise and white... not so sure about adding the red reflector tape. If you are just going for the reflector quality it comes in white.

I wanted an accent to make it *POP* hence the Red stripe.

If I could do my compact II over, I'd do white on top and a pale cerulean blue on bottom. But whatever combination you like would be nice with the white top.

I voted for a 2-tone. Brilliant white on top (for reflectivity, stays cooler inside) and a light silver grey on the bottom. A subtle change from the top, but noticeable and would tone with Roberts TV

Question Pink or Turquoise

And this poll's vote for Pink was mine. The trailer's original color (under the Charcoal Gray) looked like Pink to me, but I was told that it was Beige. Robert says that it is closer to "Peach". I want the trailer to look like something built in the 1950's, so now I still want the upper body, the reflectorized stripe, and wheels to be white, but...

I'm torn between Pink and Turquoise for the lower half.

Go with the Turquoise. There are great vintage trailer accessories in turquoise! Melamine dishes, fabric, stoves, fridges, formicas.... the list goes on and on!

and you would have to have these...

http://www.amazon.com/Turquoise-Cann.../dp/B003UT7OY8

and you could use this for flooring

http://www.armstrong.com/commfloorin...?item_id=61259

you have created a monster...

I already have a Stainless Steel Bar Sink, faucet, and 10 gallon water tank. We won't install a stove inside- he has a Camp stove to use outside. I think I have a Thetford 565 Porta-potty, but I just have to remember where it's stored. I also saved the countertop to reuse, as well as the cushions covered in Blue Denim. I plan to add a water pump, outside shower, water heater, 3-way Fridge, and A/C.

More pictures of the stripped body. The last picture is a close-up of the area that was under the rotted floor, just to the driver's side of the rear entry door. There is a big crack in the bottom fiberglass that has settled around the frame and sunk down about 3/4". I need to fix it strong enough so it will once again sit on top of the frame instead of trying to wrap around it.

Once I get the fiberglass ready, it goes into a paint booth.

I took the door with me to the Lake Casitas rally. There Eric Rassmussen and I deconstructed it into its component pieces. Now I can straighten the bent hinges and put in a better core in the lockset area. I can also replace the broken pane in the upper sash of the window.

I scored a pair of 7" round "wedding cake" style tail lights plus some round side marker lights.

The original rectangle tail lights were centered in the area between the door and the side of the trailer, higher than most other Compact Jr. trailers I've seen. I'm wondering about placement of the "new" round tail lights. Any suggestions?

Talking One and a half years and counting... an update

The fiberglass shell is separated from the steel frame.

The steel frame has a new coat of "rust converting" primer.

The original wheels have been sent out for sand-blasting and RED powder coat.

Purchased new round 2000 lb axle with 4" drop, plus perches on both sides so it is changeable from spring-under to spring-over mount, 7" electric brakes, and new 2000 lb leaf springs, plus all new hardware kits to assemble to the frame.

The original axle and leaf springs are available for sale.
