My new counter

I removed my burners and water holding tank. I wanted to put a counter on it. I took my time and came up with a design that I think is really great. I kept the sink and put a valve in the line below the sink. I wanted to be able to put ice in the sink and when it melts open the valve an empty the water on the ground. I also wanted to use the area that was cutout for the burners. I disassembled the burners so that all I had left was the tray. This is gonna be storage. My counter is three pieces and will be hinged to access each side. I have been working on it today and it is coming along well.

Nice!

Want to make my house countertop?

We often discuss taking out the stove; we have not used it since we bought a Coleman stove. However, the miserable (not company!) camping weather last weekend has us hesitating. We just keep a plastic cutting board over it. It is the place we put our coffeepot.

This is my first real attempt at wood working. I use a very small backpacking stove that I will store in the stove pan. Thanks

Benjamin, clever. You could put some styrene foam around the sink from the under side and a piece glued to the underside of the counter to insulate your beer cooler.

I need to send you some Texas Shiner Bock to put in that sink. 100 years old and still going strong.

Benjamin, nice work, we have been discussing doing something similar with our stove. Currently we have a cutting board with short sides that sets over the stove. All our water equipment has been removed, sink is used for storage with a cutting board to cover it and we set the TV on that. Used a couple wood TV tray tops to make counter extensions on each end.

Busy day. The wife and I decided on a whim to throw in the new windows. 3 hours later and lots of cussing they are in. I was so scared to do the windows but it was not to bad at all. I am excited I finally have some windows that open. Also I now have that passionate hate for silicone. We had way to much of it to clean off.
