Sharon, I don't own one, but I have read other members posting that it is marginal at cooling unless you place a small fan in front of it to help push the cold air up toward the ceiling.

Doesn't sound like a good idea....heat rises....cold air produced at floor level would naturally want to stay at floor level. Why reinvent the wheel...there is a reason RV A/C u its are normally installed in the roof/ceiling.

Cold air is heavy and stays at he bottom unless forced to do otherwise. Better than nothing though if it's all you have.

Sharon, it works great in our 13' Uhaul. GE 5K btu, I do use a fan for circulation and open my roof vent about 1" for the hot air to escape, but the camper will stay in the low 70's on the hottest of days.

We have ours installed just above the floor and it cools our unit down very well. We still use fans to help circulate the air. Nice and cool. Here's a pic of where our unit is. This was taken near the end of our remodel...

cool....

We actually added a foam core deflector to send the cool air upward into the cabin and it made a HUGE difference! I am looking to create a more permanent plastic one, but for now the foam board works fine.
