I bought LED replacement running lights at Wal-Mart.
doing a search at their sight I found several examples including this one.

Doesn't matter where they are powered from, current is current.

It puts less of a load on the tail/running light circuit

I have installed all LED lights on my Scamp rebuild and one driving force for the running and tail lights etc is that the ones I bought are sealed and I hope that means that there are no sockets to corrode and make intermittent. Over the years this has been a problem. While I was at it all of the wiring has been upgraded and the scotchloks replaces with more reliable connections.
For me it is about longevity and reliability, not so much current draw.
