New 2" LED markers for burro

Does anyone have a source for 2" surface mount LED's to replace the factory side/clearance markers on the top, rear of a Burro? I've scoured the Internet to no avail. All that I'm finding are flush mount options which would require a much larger hole or surface mounts that add 1/2"-3/4" of diameter (too large). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bulbs?

Hello,

Have you considered replacing the
incandescent bulbs in the light
assemblies you have with LED bulbs?

I would definitely be open to that option but unfortunately all components of the light but the lens essentially turned to dust when I removed it. I thought about taking an OEM one (if I could find a temporary donor) to a 3D printer in hopes that it could be recreated. However I haven't done any real research on this so it may be price prohibitive.

I got these off ebay to replace the ones on my 2000 Burro. Style-wise they're pretty similar to the originals.

Not sure what you need but I put a pair of these and the red version on my Scamp:http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00CEJDDP...I1L8R93IJPRCBT I see that the red is out of stock though. I know I REALLY like these for looks and brightness. My old ones disintegrated before and during removal.

Why LEDs for running lights? They're powered from the tow, or didn't you know that? Since they're powered from the tow it doesn't make a lot of sense to change them.

I had to change them out anyway as the plastic in the originals were crumbling and one was completely broken. Since I had to do it anyway I decided to modernize them to brighter, supposedly longer lived and lower maintainence LEDS. It is my thing that if I am going to spend time, effort, and money on a project at this point in my life I am not going to just get "back even". I plan to keep the Scamp a long time and my daughter has already "called dibbs" on it so if I can fix something with higher grade replacements parts I will do it. And yes, I think we all know they are obviously powered from the tow.

Can you put a new bulb socket behind the original lens?

Unfortunately everything but the lens crumbled upon removal.

Thank you all for your responses...I'm still searching.

I installed LED lights to get rid of the problems with connections and corrosion.
Everything is encapsulated and sealed.
Most of my time fixing trailer lights has been cleaning corroded bulb connections.
No more!

The top markers on our Burro were also toast, so we replaced them with LED fixtures. I know what you mean by having difficulty finding something that fits. I finally found cool beehive shaped red LED fixtures, designed to be replacements for Harley Davidson motorcycle rear turn signal lights. They are the same (2"I believe) diameter, and the cool bullet shape looks great on a Burro. I had to make a custom mount from a ring of PVC cut from a pipe fitting then epoxy the whole thing on. It has been in service for 4 years now and looks and works great. Very bright and very "cool".

Here is a link to what I used. I got them elsewhere but e Trailer now sells them.
