The stove in my U-haul was looking kind of grody and, although it worked just fine, I decided to replace it.
I found a new Dometic stove on E-bay. It sports a glass cover and a built in spark igniter that runs on the trailer battery. I have yet to cook on it but ain't it purty!

The next resto I get into is gonna have one of these too. Love the nearly flush-to-the-counter install.

Not just "purty," but so functional, too. With the flush mount, you just gained a foot or so of extra counter space when the glass lid closed.
I keep a towel, cutting board, or place mat over the closed cover for protection from scratches when doing dishes and sliding stuff around. So far, so good, two and a half years later. I love our SMEV, very similar to your Dometic.

What a huge improvement! I thought my VT stovetop looked bad, but yours must have cooked up a storm. It's a testament to the fact these appliances are still working after 25 years, and who knows how many miles?
I'll PM you for some information.
Thanks,
Matt

It's a Dometic model # 2br-10666057.
I got it from Tri State Surplus for $136.74 including shipping.

I had never heard of SMEV so I looked them up. WOW!!!
It looks like I bought a $400+ stove for a mere pittance.
Sadly, Tri State no longer lists them for sale.

Did it fit the old stove opening perfectly, or did you have to infill anywhere?
