New look for and old Ventura

Took some time this week for a refresh of the outside of my 76 Ventura. The top half got a coat of White Knight Flex Coat and the bottom half got painted with Cloverdale 111 Marine Enamel AC123 Red. Sure looks different than the beast I pulled home.

Woosie! Love it... did you chose the red color because it matches your tug?

I rolled it , the flexcoat is a coating for rv roofs. I used it as the top was really messed up with spider cracking everywhere in the gelcoat and this stuff covers it well and will flex . If I could have gotten it into my garage I would have sprayed the red as it is orange pealed. I will wet sand and put on another coat in a week or so. Going camping to a friends farm tonight. One of the previous owners will be there, should be a surprise.

I thought the red would really make it pop. The tow car is a green Subaru Legacy so it will clash a bit but it will probably outlast the car.

David, we've found a lot of people have their trailers longer than the current tug. I'm about ready to go look for a new tug myself.

Your trailer won't clash with the color of your tug. Red and green are popular holiday colors and everytime you go camping think of it as being a terrific HOLIDAY.

Nice! I just picked up my "new" Ventura today and now I've got another idea. Thanks. Looks good two tone I think Venturas are a little too vanilla in their stock off white. Yes mine is spidered too and I've used White Knight before%

Got the Ventura logo cut and mounted, didn't bother with the globe portion of the logo. Also moved the logos to the side rather than the rear. And the color is not as orange as it looks in the picture

BTW the logo is in the document center under Ventura.

So camping is done for the year, time for the interior! I did a complete tear out and have some 5/16 tonque and groove knotty pine. The walls are done now on to the cabinets and bed. One good thing about the Ventura is the walls are flat so doing the walls are not too much of a problem other than they used about 5 tubes construction adhesive to hold on the original panelling!

here are some shots of the progress on the interior. Have the top cabinet to rebuild and hang and some more trim to do. I went to buy the corner moldings and almost had another heart attack, 8 pieces of 8' molding were more than all the wood used so far, $153. I will be making my own thank you! Its getting there slowly but surely. Sorry for the mess.

Imagine if it were cedar. Mmmmmmmm. Cedar is one of my favorite scents.
