New to a scamp!

I am remodeling a old scamp. I have taken out all furniture and replacing the wood floor.
Some areas are not level- what can I do?
Also there is old shaggy carpet on walls and ceiling, how could I remove or cover it up?? Does not paint well. Would also like to add some kind of ceiling lights. This will be used for a playhouse. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!

HI Brandi! You actually have a Casita. The door hinges are a give away. Scamp never used that style. And the interior carpet is a definite Casita item. Personally, I'd clean the carpet. You can rent a carpet cleaner and scrub it. Just don't go wild and soak it with water and scrub it to death to the point the glue lets go. Better to scrub twice, with drying between, than try to do it all at once with regrets.

Since you've taken the cabinets out, what do you plan on replacing them with? Some of the cabinets are structural and actually over time hold the roof up!

You mentioned using it as a playhouse. Do you mean that literally, or as a playhouse while towing to camp? Really it will make a difference...

Ok well the layout is the same as a scamp. The hinges were order from casita but didn't work. Not leaving the carpet as is thanks though. I left the closet and the front bunk and back dinette will go back in. Yes I am doing a actual playhouse that will be setup in my back yard and only times moved is if we move.

Okay, since it's not going to be used for camping and you don't like the carpet. I'd rip it out, clean the walls thoroughly then apply a product like Grizzly Grip YMMV

When you ordered the hinges from Casita, did you specify for the older style Patriot?

I don't know that was done by previous owner. I will do more research on that. I would live to tear the carpet out but my timeframe is running against me. It's pretty stuck on there.

Yes it is. Many folks have the same issue when trying to remove the glue. It can be done, it's just messy and time consuming. That's why I mentioned cleaning it. You can do that well in a couple of hours.

Best of luck!

Good luck here is a layout of the 13 foot Casita Patriot. Probably the same as a Scamp.

Lots of good questions there Brandi. I have never heard of Rhino on the inside. I would think you want a layer of insulation between you and the FG hull.

Love you fabric chooses Brandi! Really fun.

Time to update your profile as others have indicated its pretty clear by your outside and interior photos your trailer is indeed a Casita.

Yes she loves it. Wants to take it camping this weekend at the lake with us. I told her it needs new tires first. Lol I should prolly get a baby monitor for all the nights ahead of us that she will stay out there. Hoping to paint the outside by the fall.
