Hi Linda,

Which Window are you referring to?

The side windows I drilled out the rivets and pushed them out (with someone there to catch them). I then cleaned them up, used butyl tape to seal them and riveted them back on.

The front and back plexi glass windows have a rubber seal and a lock strip, no screws or rivets.

Bolers/Scamps/Casita windows are mounted differently than Burro/Trillum (other brands). It may be best to search for Burro solutions....

How did you apply the exterior paint

It's looks as though you had the exterior painted in a shop. What did you use to apply the white and the red? Compressor and spray gun? What was the brand of the paint and the rubber paint also? Huge thanks for the info.

The bottom red was painted already. It looks like a professional job and was done 20 years ago.

Last year I sprayed the top of our green Boler, I had leftover white paint. This time I used an ultra smooth roller and rollered the white paint on. The spray did a slightly smoother job, but you have to get up and really look to notice the difference.

Having done both, spraying was much easier than I thought it would have been, but rolling turned out well, costs less, makes less of a mess. I would roll next time. I would use an ultra smooth roller (I picked up at home depot), and use a new roller for each coat.

At the bottom of this page you can see the paint I used. OurBoler.com 74 Boler rebuild
I purchased them from a plastic supply store. When I was spraying I had to dilute them, when rolling I could skip that step.

Now that you have two bolers, what will you be doing with your extra one?

Sadly I could find no reason to keep two, so we sold the red one. Although I do plan to start looking this summer for another project. My favorite is the green one, as it has been modified to fit us (has a toilet), and was the first. The red one was more what they were. As a family we discussed at length to decide

I posted a thread with the details of the other build at

Or you can check out my blog at OurBoler, Family Outdoor Adventures

Interior Question

Thanks for the great post on your project. I am currently in the dismantling phase of my fiberglass project. Looking at your pictures and reading the thread I can't figure out what you did for your interior walls? Did you insulate it at all or did you just sand and paint the fiberglass? Sorry if I missed this somewhere along the way. Trying to decide what to do on my project.

Thanks again.
