Outdoor shower

We enjoyed our first experience boondocking but realized we wanted an outdoor shower option. We have a tiny wet bath with a shower but have never used it. Seems like the after shower clean up would hardly be worth it.

Our campsite was sunny, warm and private so I tried dumping sauce pans of water on myself. That sort of worked OK but no doubt wasted a lot of water and was a hassle.

I found this Rinse Ace 3037COM Sink Faucet Rinser - Amazon.com on amazon for $20, installed It today and it works great. Easy to attach and detach, no leaks and five minutes to install.


Their special aerator fitting replaces the one your faucet came with and is machined to accept the shower hose with a quarter turn fitting. It fits the two most common types of faucet threads.



The Snoozy has a swing up kitchen window which is perfect for this. You can reach in to adjust the temperature and hang the shower head from the gas strut.


I could even see hanging the picnic tablecloth around the open window frame with clothespins to make a shower curtain of sorts.

This product has a 3' hose which is plenty for me but they also sell it with an 8' hose which might work better if you had pass the hose out of the door.

Here is the panel I used on my Hunter. The hose is on the brass quick disconnect mentioned and can be as long as you like it. Also, no crunched up hoses. When the hose is disconnected the water is cut off.

Mine (Build #127) is on the floor under the kitchen sink. That's pretty valuable real estate. Under the bed sounds better.

I got mine for <$20 on eBay. Same amount of work to install (I've done both several times) uses less inside and wall space, you can make the hose any length you need and the hose doesn't get all kinked up when stored. Really handy when you want to use an outside shower tent

I'm a newbie wanting to buy a FGRV and have been researching outdoor and makeshift showers, because we'll need to get a very small trailer. I saw a blog where a women used a plastic hot water heater drain pan for an indoor shower.

She used very little water and just capped the hole, but you could also hook up a hose to divert water outside, or if using outside, to divert water away from your trailer.

I replaced my shower head recently with an Oxygenator head. The original shower head was never used. It includes a hose.

Free for the cost of shipping to whoever wants it.

Not that you need the shower head and stuff that comes in this thing, but just the privacy shelter for under $40 is a pretty good deal.

I purchased a large popup shower tent to use it outside and I prefer the outdoor shower. I've only used my Basecamp shower inside when it was very very cold. And then the shower was so quick I would have been better off just heating water on the stove and doing a quick sponge bath.
If you can find a trailer that already has a built-in shower you're better off. Since you have to get a small trailer, you may rather have the extra space for living area. But I'd recommend you at least find a trailer with hot water system, or add one. Then using something like the drain pan or the dog bath I used, will be easier to set up inside. I'll probably add the water heater to mine down the road.

I think this is the one Leslie. Its the largest popup I could find. And Cabelas had them last year in their stores. You can still buy it online too.

dumping soapy water on the ground is frowned at most all campgrounds.
