Overhead storage.

Just got back from my last trip in my 13' scamp. Need to do something about clothing storage.

I want to make a lightweight overhead storage shelf over the bed.

I know this question has been done to death. I used to have a bunch of bookmarked posts with great pics. Have lost all of those and am now coming up blank on my searches.

Any good links/ pics would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I saw one Escape owner who strung a hammock over the bed for storage.

I use a closet maid wire shelf installed upside down so that the lip holds things in. Karen

WOW Karen!! LOVE LOVE LOVE your interior! I went to your profile for more pix but sadly there were no more inside ones but cute outside pix! Love you trailer's name too!

Was so impressed with the decor I forgot to ask how you affixed the wire shelves?

Excellent mod Karen. I'd like to know more about how you attached the shelves. Did you use plastic clips or something more industrial?

I added these shelves on either side several years ago. Simply drill holes for the ends and pull into cupboard and then push into the end unit leaving about 1/2 inch of the rods inside the cupboards. If your holes are close to the same size as the metal framing then there is no movement while travelling. On the closet side i was ablt to use the full width but on the kitchen side I had to bend the back edge to fit. I simply clamped two inches of the shelf between two boards and bent it to fit the trailer side. They are just held in by friction fit but haven't moved in three years of use.

My trailer is only single walled but there is a wood frame around the windows. I used screws into that.
