Oversize propane tank

I just bought a 1985 U-Haul 16' VT with no propane tank, and have a 40lb bottle that will fit in the mount. I got the parts manual, and see that 20lb units are standard.

I'm going to be fulltiming in this rig from April til November in the Colorado high country, and it would be nice to have the extra capacity.

Is this a bad idea from a safety standpoint during towing? The mount seems like it should handle it, but having a break would be pretty horrific.

If the VT mount is like the CT mount, I think you have no worries. UHaul didn't under build anything.
