Paint or Wrap

Hi there Folks, we are looking at either painting or wrapping (checkered flag style) our 1971 Trillium in the future.
What are your thoughts pros & cons???

We've had a busy summer been up north in July (White Lake Provincial Park, Sault Ste Marie KOA & Dowling, On) & now getting ready to head to Michigan International Speedway for a week.

Wrapping would be quite expensive imo...
Make sure your surface is free of cracks/leaks etc before you do it.

An easy way to do it would be to first paint tne camper white and then cut some sticky vynyl paper to do the checker pattern..i used to cover my snowboards with the stuff and it holds very well

I once read where wraps had a shelf-life of less than five years. Then someone posted theirs had been on for a lot longer than that... I'd think it would depend on where you spend most of your time and how the trailer is stored during non-travel times (UVs). Personally, I like a white trailer with decals that match the tug, even the wild kind .... Click image for larger version

I've had those graphics on my other pickup for around 12 years now. The only trouble is they cracked where the guy that put them on really stretched them. He didn't install them the way I would have, but I figured he was the expert. The rest of them are fine.

Once again, I should have done it myself. He laid the graphics over an inset body line, then heated them, and pushed them into it. I would have laid the bottom first, then into the body line, and continued up.

I've learned to distrust the "experts" over the years.

...To me, paint is ...the best and it would last for a long, long time, You could have your own choice of decal, colours, pictures.....It's dark right now at my area. Tomorrow after work, I will post photos of my Trillium, all diy outdoor,. It has three colors and...a tiger head right at the door....just to keep wandering bears away, lol...For a whole shell, a cup gun and 150bucks of paint will do the job. For stripes,,,,a 20buck spray gun will do a job. For a tiger head, rabbit face or donkey smile, a cheap air brush of a nail salon will do a good job, too. That's all I have...

Here's a picture of them.

$120 graphics
$40 matching scamp decals
$40ish in floor wax/bar keepers friend/scotchbrite

I might paint it later, but if so, I'll be doing it right, and I'm not sticking another $2-3000 in it at the moment.

For $200, it sure polished a turd.
