Not sure there's anything left worth saying after that last post…

However… returning to the original question…
I think the quality of the paint job is far more important to appearance than how you paint the door. I think the OP's trailer looks great, and so does Ian's, with a slight nod to Ian's (mostly because I love yellow)… If I were going to split the door, I would want a pinstripe, or, even better, a piece of aluminum trim, covering the paint line to look properly finished.

Fooled me… Looking at your registry photos, I thought it was a piece of aluminum trim matching the belly band. Looks good!

We chose a split door with trim to tie it together with the belly band.

SWEET! I love the half-and-half look. Otherwise, (to me) it looks like.. OMG "Gladys the door is damage, look I have a white one here in the barn... I'll put it on."

Somehow that all white door doesn't "fit."

And, it's not like anyone who doesn't know the history of an "old" molded towable knows the difference... the all white door.. just doesn't "fit." YMMV

Soo... maybe that would automaticaly tell you.. there is a maintenance issue? Pay attention to the needs of your all molded towable. It's an asset!

I just painted mine and all the bottom half including the bottom half of the door is now Black and the top half is Silver Gray. I like this look better, but see many with the door all 1 color.
A better question might be, how many paint the bottom half of the door the same color as the top half of the door, or do they paint the top half of the door the same as the bottom half of the door. <grin>
