I agree, maybe in Thom's case since they sleep in their van, the magic table is a sweet deal. I converted mine into a wrap around couch... seats 4-5 comfortably and i just throw my sheets and blankets on it and its a bed...if I choose to get lucky then I pull it out and its a queen sized bed. Much easier then the magic table imho

Greetings my PL family
Yes the "U" shape seating is nice... Though somewhere I remember stating that we do now set up the rear with the magic table folded in half And used as a table-for-two since it is just the two of us, and yes as mentioned ...we do sleep full time in the van's bed & bath setup.

Cheers and enjoy the Parkliner.
Thom

To me, the real "magic" is having so many options available for seating/sleeping/entertaining with this ingenious table. I completely understand the desirability (ease) of keeping the back area configured into a bed. But how cool is it that with this marvelous little stay-up, fold down, flatten out table, one can utilize it for any given situation, social or otherwise? The selling point for me were the images that Thom and Brian posted of their bench seating. How suave and inviting this arrangement looks! I am driven to move forward with the conversion and I cannot wait to have my bench seating finished so that I, too, can post photos (and enjoy the spoils) of a lovely lounge suitable for social gatherings and entertaining...

The magic table is so totally cool. When I was figuring options for Ten Forward, Thom graciously took close up photos of his and Cari's Parkliner magic table. I almost turned myself into a pretzel trying to figure out a way to make it work in my 5.0TA. In the end, I decided no table at all. It works for me, but still.. that table is neato!

That little table *is* absolutely neato, Donna, and my declaration is firm. I shall have one! Until I obtain the hardware and complete the conversion I am a happy camper here at home sewing up spiffy curtains and decorative pillows to complete the transformation of the interior of my (already) beloved PL. I wish you lived closer--I'd love to see the interior of an Escape in person. Do you have pics available on the forum? As a designer by trade I love seeing what others do with their little homes on wheels. I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate myself around this place of friendly folk and avid adventurers...

We like to have the bed made up during the day as well. It just looks neat and clean. Like your not living in your bedroom. It makes it another room entirely.

DONNA: What?! You don't wear fruit on your head and goofy glasses? You had me fooled with that fun avatar of yours...Wow! "Ten Forward" is gorgeous! Love your fabric choices, and, man, oh, man, look at the width of that aisle! How cool to learn the origin of your camper's name...that in Trekkie terms "Ten Forward" is the forward lounge and the hub of the ship's social activities. And I love your philosophy (that which I ascribe to myself)--Fate + Destiny = Dreams Come True. It certainly happened that way with my little camper as well. Thanks for posting the pics...your little camper is a beauty, indeed!

TAB: Wowza! Your PL looks positively gorgeous set up in the lounge arrangement! That shade of blue is dreamy, for sure. Please advise: Did you select the bunk bed option? I see many more pillows in the pics above than I have in my PL. The extra cushions must come with the bunk option. I will def be ordering extra cushions to make my lounge seating complete. I have the Dupioni Peridot (green) material to work with and am sewing up decorative pillows to compliment what I now have. Can't wait to post pics once she is completed.

I've been in touch with the very kind Mr. Tom Bass who is helping to facilitate the purchase of hardward for my table conversion. He is also putting me in touch with the upholsterer/seamstress who contracts with PL. My mod should be complete within a couple weeks depending on the length of time it will take to receive the cushions. So excited! Thanks, all, who have chimed in with this project. I love, love, love seeing interior pics of your campers. What fun! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...

Tom Bass has been extremely generous with his knowledge and advice; the ParkLiner folks are certainly lucky to have him available to those of us who can learn from his experience. Thank you, Mr. Bass!
