Pictures on the Wall

In the photo showing the wedgies, you have some pictures hanging on the carpeted wall. How did you hang them? We have a couple of posters ready to hang, but we're not quite sure how to secure them to the wall. Would appreciate knowing what you did.

There are several things you can use (not sure what Phil used) to hang on carpet. I use inexpensive drapery hooks. I even used them to hang my curtain rods. It's a great way to hold those overhead doors open, too. You can get them at any fabric store - probably even Walmart.

I'll see if I can find a picture of one for you. They are the really cheap ones. They have one end that is pointed so when it is inserted into the carpet it holds tight and the 'whatever' hangs on the hook that sticks out.

I have also heard that some use velcro, but I personally like the ease of this method.

That seems to work. There are usually something like 14 of them for less than a dollar. There are a couple of different sizes.

Thank you Suz, sometimes the simplest answers are the hardest to come by. We tried velcro, but it wouldn't hold when the Casita was moving. Drapery hooks, how simple. We'll get some.

I tried one of those hooks like you showed. When I hang something on it, it pulls right out. :helpme

I cannot imagine how. If you make sure it is all the way in, there is no way in can come out. The fact that it is hanging on the hook will keep it into place because it is pulling d obect own. I even use them for my paper towel holder and it gets yanked on all the time. Hummm.......

Unless you are pulling my chain because the picture was upside down....then, yes, it would fall out. ;)

Yeah, Suz. Morgan's pulling your chain! (He doesn't know how much trouble you and me and Michael all went to, to get that picture to load! Michael, can you rotate it?)

Morgan, that picture's of the hook laying flat on a table. If it were hanging on the wall, you wouldn't be able to see the pointy part.

Suz, I really and truly love your idea. We had several of the hooks in the junk drawer; they're now in the Casita spares box.

I've tried velcro and even carpet screws (bet you didn't know about them), but nothing works like the drapery hook.

A simple and elegant solution is always welcome. In engineering, we use the acronym KISS (keep it simple [for] stupid).
