Potty, etc.

Okay, here are some photos of our updates/modifications. First we removed the old rusty stove top and fridge which opened up a nice space to store our porta-potty. I then built a frame, attached a mirror and hinges, and turned it into a new cabinet door for the space where the fridge used to be. I then bought a cheap cutting board, placed Velcro strips on the bottom of it and on top of the counter top, and now have a place to place the electric cook top or portable gas burner. Added portholes and an under the counter radio/CD player. Next step is to add these nifty "tiles" for the backsplash Shop Instant Mosaic 2012 Stainless Steel Color Metal Mosaic Subway Indoor/Outdoor Peel-and-Stick Wall Tile (Common: 12-in x 12-in; Actual: 12-in x 12-in) at Lowes.com and find a way to cover the ugly cabinet doors. Not perfect, not expensive, and always learning as we go along. So far, so good, and everything worked as planned last weekend on our test run.

My apologies for leaving the lid up for the photograph.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the port holes! Hardly ever use my ice box as well, maybe for a long trip but mostly use the cooler and sometimes a 12 volt cooler.

It's been fun tinkering here and there, while keeping the original design intact. I especially like the portholes at night when they are lighted from within. Looks like a little UFO has landed at the campground. Maybe an alien mask is in order?

Love your portholes and the idea for potty place. I never use my icebox for anything but storage. Thanks for sharing.
