Power Cover for Classic Trillium Trailer
The power access panel on my Trillium was causing me problems. I looked around but could not find a suitable replacement.
Mice and bugs were able to enter my trailer through the electrical cord causing a mess inside the trailer.
My solution was to create a water tight screw on power receptacle using. I created a separate screw on plug for when the trailer is not connected to Hydro, or for storage and towing.
I designed this part and printed it using a 3D printer. I've made several other hard to find plastics parts for my trillium using this method.

I made the design available on Shapeways, however they charge a lot of money to use their 3D printers. I think the total cost is over $200 + shipping.
If someone wants one of these, I could print the parts at my cost for $60 + shipping.

Shapeways is a company that will print 3D objects for you and send them to your mailbox. 3D printing isn't exactly cheap yet.

Very cool, but for now I'll stick to my lathe and scrap aluminum.

3D printing is not only NOW, but the future. Totally cool stuff. Remember when only RICH people had laser printers at home....

Cool design, Joe. Looks like it will work slick. And $200 for a one off item does not seem that ridiculous, besides if it works good for you then it is invaluable.

Jim Bennett is spot ON it's not about anybody's needs but your own. I've seen a lot of "mods" that I would consider ridiculous, but since it's not my NEEDS who cares? It's ALL about you and your needs and wants and as long as it works for you....

...My Trillium has one which is modified from an...18wheeler connector. It is air-tighted, water/snow proof. I do not know how much it costs as new but mine is 5 bucks from junk yard. In photo it is the one with green lid. Enjoy it...

Hi,
Great job, this looks like a very good solution!
Could you share the 3d model? My son has a 3d printer and would like to print one for our trailer.

Love your use of a 3D printer! I'm sure there are plenty of other upgrades you can make with one.
I purchased and installed a used Marinco 30amp inlet because of power needs.
