Small things

Minimizing big projects since I had a 'hanging on' cold since we came home.

My goal is to continually improve places for things. Previously the volt meter just hung out in the left side of this closet. It how has a home on the door.

It seems my cheap volt meters from Harbor Freight last about one year and then die. Yours looks very much like the ones I buy. Have you had the same experience? Or is your meter from a different store and if so which one and how long has it lasted?

Cheers John

Meters

I bought my meter at Frye's in 2008. I've had to replace the battery once in that time period. The meter is very good but doesn't measure current. I have a Fluke meter for that purpose but it stays home.

I love Frye's and whenever we're in Seattle or Pheonix I save a day for it. Ginny spends most of her time in the flashlight aisle.

For those that don't know Frye's electronics is the Ikea for qeeks.

Though we are very organized, at least in our trailer, we've worked to refine it further for this year.

P.S. The picture points out that I have a loose wire.

Frye's Seattle (Renton)

Carol,

It's just off I 405 at exit 5. The store's huge and has all kinds of electronics. There's even a food stop in the center of the store.

Many of their sales are available to only store customers.

FRYS.com

They actually have a lot of stores in the west but only 1 in WA.

LOL now I get it you mean Frys not Fryes as you originally indicated. The Frys in Washington is in Renton, Fryes on the other hand only has one retail store I know of its in NYC.

I guess you missed the part about: "Ginny spends most of her time in the flashlight aisle."

Learning

"the flashlight aisle"....

One of the neat aspects of our long term RVing has been getting to know Ginny better. It's amazing that when we we started some 11+ years ago we had been married 38 years, yet there was so much yet to learn about her, about her little 'likes' that she had of which I had no insight.

I always hear people say 'how can you stand being together for such long periods? (sometimes adding in a tiny space'). For us that is a wonderful part of our travels, just the two of us. I know many have written on the site and two me of similar expectations or styles, but for us it's become an unexpected reality.

RVing has been another period of growing up, of more clearly seeing what life can be, in part I must say because we are less distracted by work, family and 'stuff'.

Just feeling real good as we begin packing up for this years trip.

Nope didnt miss that! Which along with the location & name Norm mentioned had me scratching my head.

Jim your correct I was thinking boots as the stores name was originally posted as "Fryes" with an "E" which was the reason I asking for clarification.

Being able to go shopping for a nice new pair of awesome boots and shopping for cool new electronics all in one store would have made me a very happy girl! MIght have jumped in the car to do a little shopping this week-end

Cold Floor

It's been very cold for early Nov on the NH coast. Today sitting on the floor adjusting the spring catches on the cabinet doors I noticed that the floor was very cold. Outside of windows, all surfaces in the trailer feel warm to the touch with the electric heater keeping the trailer toasty warm.

Actually the floor under the dinette is relatively warm, probably because of the insulating properties of the grey tank. The primary floor between the two counters has no insulation. This probably could be greatly improved by attaching a layer of foam to the underside of the floor.

Has anyone done this?
