Propane Tank Toolbox

I was looking for some samples of DIY propane brackets and came upon this ingenious idea for a spare tank. Think I'll give it a try!

Neat Idea... BUT

Points off for using a cut-off wheel to cut out the door without there being a guard on the cut-off wheel. See step #3. I've got what looks all the world like a sharks bite scar on my right leg from a wheel that disintegrated even before starting a cut and that was with a guard in place.

Trip to the E.R., about 16 stitches, and I was very lucky. Without a guard it could have done a lot more damage.

Never use a cut-off wheel without a guard.....

I think it would be a great place to stash my jacks and a few wrenches.

Would be a great place to store propane!

Just be sure and remove the valve and let the tank "air out" long enough for the left-over propane fumes to dissipate - - - a spark from the cut-off wheel could be disastrous!

extra storage

We had a metal box built and put it under the Snoozy's fiberglass shelf for gensets.

Fill the tank full of water then drain it before cutting to be sure no vapor us left in the tank.
